Infused with story and inspiration, this flowing practice incorporates creative sequencing to connect breath to movement, build strength, and challenge you to embody your own divinity. FORM & FUNCTION
Learn a foundational & functional approach to Hatha yoga to cultivate stability, mobility, agility & flexibility. Suitable for beginners.
Form & Function (Flow) incorporates a flowing sequence that connects a series of poses, including sun salutations.
Form & Function (Therapeutic) incorporates a more therapeutic approach for those with injuries or conditions; practice may include chairs and other props.
STRETCH & SURRENDER/YIN
Cultivate stillness to explore fascial release and ease into deep body awareness. A blend of Yin and restorative yoga, this practice makes use of various props to facilitate gentle stretching, self-massage, and long-held postures. Yoga Nidra and experiential meditation are offered in order to deepen relaxation and embodiment. Suitable for beginners.
Because yoga means “unity” I believe our shared practice is a place to connect to the essence of what brings us together. As such, we often explore ideas and inspiration that unite us on or off the mat, perhaps both. I encourage you to (en)lighten up and play, challenge you to find your strength and your untapped potential, and to surrender when it feels right. I urge you to understand the difference between pain (ouch!) and sensation (wow!) in your own body, and act accordingly. Above all, I urge you to celebrate and be amazed by the wonder that is YOU.

In all my classes, I seek meaningful ways to bring us together as a community, so that we may create some profound connection through our shared experiences as human beings. I hold a deep appreciation for provocative thinkers, archetypical stories from all traditions and cultures, and wicked wordsmiths. I draw inspiration from these sources.
In my Empower and Vinyasa classes, expect a creative flowing practice rooted firmly in optimal functional movement and safety, a practice in which we can explore the intersections between mobility, stability, accessibility, and flexibility. I believe that we need time, support, and discipline to develop a stronger practice; as such, I focus on one peak pose or family of poses per month so that students can build more skill and confidence in these more challenging asanas.
In my Form & Function (Hatha) classes, expect to refine and align foundational yoga postures in more detail. For new yogis, you will learn how to establish the architecture of standard poses and build your confidence. For experienced yogis, you will learn new approaches to familiar poses to avoid injury and maximize your potential.
In my Stretch & Surrender/Yin Yoga classes, you will explore ways to cultivate stillness to expand deeply into your physical body and ease your conscious thoughts. I often blend Restorative & Nidra approaches, inviting you to deepen your sense of embodiment and quiet your mind to access profound rest.
I believe every body is wholly individual, and as such YOU are your most important teacher. I regard my role simply as your guide. I welcome you to your mat exactly as you are, and to channel and support your practice as it shows up for you in the moment. Through all my classes I endeavour to suggest modifications to suit your individual circumstances and experiences.
PRIVATE & CORPORATE CLASSES
I also teach Hatha, Power, Vinyasa, Yin, and Restorative Yoga for individuals or small groups who want to begin or deepen practice.
In pre-pandemic times, I offered private corporate classes for the staff at the Greater Victoria Chamber of Commerce, BC Transit, and the Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction. I now offer live online classes through YogaWorks, with a class schedule designed to support workplace wellness initiatives, whether you are working remotely or in your workplace.
